Shop the Swap at roam: Clothing Swap, Sunday, November 13, 2- 5 pm

October 14, 2011

Join us for an afternoon of fashion fun while helping a great cause!

Tickets are $7 in advance (or $10 at the door, cash only)

http://swapswapswap.eventbrite.com/

How often have you looked in your closet, overflowing with items (many with the tags still on them), and lamented the fact that you still have nothing to wear?

Join us on 11/13/2011 as we clean out the clothes that are holding us back and find new outfits to launch us forward!

*Bring your new-to-others clothing pieces to swap

*Choose from all the clothes brought in-for FREE!

*Go home with a totally new wardrobe!

When you arrive between 2:00 and 2:30 pm bring all those bags of fabulous clothes and accessories that you never wear anymore, which you’ll hand off to our group of volunteers. They will set your items out on tables and clothing racks while you mix, mingle and network.

Items to bring: tops, blouses, sweaters, t-shirts, sweatshirts, pants, jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses, workout clothing, jackets/coats, shoes/boots, scarves, purses, belts, hats, jewelry and anything else that is fantastic but no longer being worn! We do ask that all items brought in be in good, clean condition.

Ready, Set, Swap!

At 2:30 sharp, we’ll begin the swap-you’ll be able to shop all the items that have been brought in by your fellow fashionistas, choosing the pieces that will fill your newly-emptied closet! Every item is free, and you will be able to take as many of the items as you can use. We encourage you to bring a large bag to collect your new clothing in as you browse.

All clothing not taken will be donated to Dress for Success, Goodwill and other local charities. We are so grateful for all we’ve been given, and are happy to help these causes while having a fun afternoon with friends!

Bring Your Friends!

The more fashionistas, the merrier! Invite your friends and co-workers, and enjoy a memorable mix and mingle.

Weiner’s sexting scandal, plus more recent brand-damaging but less racy episodes. I’ll also cover why people sext, examine when people are most likely to make mistakes, and what, if anything, can be done to prevent them. Speaker Info

My name is Maria Peagler, and I specialize in technology training.  I started as the 10th employee of ExecuTrain, an Atlanta-based computer training company that grew to be the nation’s largest of its kind.  Companies were in dire need of computer training for their employees, and I was soon traveling across the U.S. to teach Fortune 500 companies how to make their employees productive on PCs.  Soon I became Director of Courseware Development for the company, and I made my focus to take complex computer concepts and make them simple.   I presented papers at national conferences, wrote for national computer magazines, and led a team of technical writers in developing courses.

Fast-forward to today.  Eight published books later, a Benjamin Franklin award for one of the Best Books of 2010, and I’m thrilled to debut these courses at a time when they’re desperately needed.  I’m a small business owner too, and I understand how challenging today’s economy is for entrepreneurs.
